Steamed Chocolate Cake In A Buffalo Smart Cooker KW-57

Matthew, my younger boy loves chocolate cake. For a change, I made him a chocolate cake without using the oven, instead, I decided to steam a chocolate cake for him in my Buffalo Smart Cooker KW-57. Here is the recipe for the steamed moist chocolate cake.

Ingredients:

2 eggs

100g plain flour

30g cocoa powder

200g butter

180g castor sugar

180g evaporated milk

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla essence

200g good quality cooking dark chocolate, chopped

200ml double cream

Method:

Combine castor sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla essence and butter in a thermomix at 37 degrees Celcius at speed 2 for about 2 minutes.  Make sure the castor sugar is dissolved and butter is melted. Then leave the mixture to cool down slightly.

Next, add the lightly whisked eggs into the mixture and pour in the plain flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder and give them a good mix.

Finally, pour the evenly mixed batter into the greased inner pot of the Buffalo Smart Cooker.

Use the cake function and steam the chocolate cake for 45 minutes.

Once it is ready, tip the cake onto a plate.
