Satay Without The Bamboo Skewers

My family adores eating satay. Satay is a kind of seasoned grilled meat serve with satay sauce which you can make it yourself or buy it from Coles or Woolworths. I took the easy way out and bought the satay sauce from Coles. But now I am going to teach you how to make the marinade sauce for the satay.

Ingredients for satay:

6 chicken thighs.

4 shallots. I have attached a photo of shallots below for those of you of who are not sure what is a shallot.

4 cloves of garlic. Slice and  pound it and make into a paste

2 lower stalks near the white bulb of the lemongrass. Slice and pound the white bulb to a paste.

4 tsp salt

6 tsp sugar

2 tsp coriander powder

2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp cumin powder

4 tsp cooking oil

Methods:

Marinate the chicken thighs with the above marinade mix for several hours or until midnight.

Once it is well marinaded, place it in the oven and grill it for 15 minutes at 200 degrees Celcius.

Traditionally for satay, the meat needs to be cut into smaller pieces and threaded onto the bamboo skewers. But I am too lazy to do this, so I created satay without skewers.
